With vast experience with timber working, splitting of shingles and palings, not to mention hand hewing of beams etc, Stan Ceglinski has been sharing his knowledge & passing on his skills throughout Australia and New Zealand for the past 30 years. Recent performances have included Major Trade Shows, Timber and Working with Wood Shows, Field days, Fairs, Festivals as well as numerous TV show appearances.

Hand splitting shingles. Stan talks of the unique characteristics of split or “Riven” timber, giving a unique demonstration by quickly carving a small cricket bat from same and showing folk the almost impossible in trying to break the handle off.
Cross cut sawing. This is carried out with small diameter soft hardwood logs. Children and parents, using a 100 year old saw, cut off a disc, which Stan decorates with date and a unique picture depicting a caricature style drawing of a 100 yr old cross cut saw.
7oo yr old design “ Shaving horse” & “draw knife". All ages are invited to sit on this amazing and versatile holding system and carve a pair of music sticks from specially selected timber species. Along with this unique experience and treasured memory you will be taking home a memento of your time with Stan, learning new skills.
